The 2018 Volvo XC90 Plug-in Hybrid is a four-passenger (Excellence only) or seven-passenger luxury crossover SUV that offered in four levels: Momentum, R-Design, Inscription and Excellence.
The 2018 Volvo XC90 Plug-in Hybrid T8 utilizes 2.0-liter supercharged and turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an 87-hp electric motor. Together, this combination produces a total output of 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is standard as well as eight-speed automatic transmission.
In track testing, the 2018 Volvo XC90 Plug-in Hybrid accelerates to 60 mph from zero in 5.3 seconds. EPA estimates pure-electric range at 19 miles and 27 mpg combined when operating in hybrid mode. With a 240-volt charging station, fully recharging the pack takes only about 2.5 hours. Charging from a standard 120-volt wall outlet will takes about seven hours.
