The 2018 Volvo S90 Plug-In Hybrid T8 is backed by both 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged and supercharged engine paired to an 87-hp electric motor. Together they produces a total output of 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard and comes exclusively with all-wheel drive.
At track testing, the 2018 Volvo S90 Plug-In Hybrid T8 Inscription went from zero to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. EPA estimates an electric-only range of 14 miles at speeds up to 78 mph and 29 mpg or 71 MPGe combined driving. With a 240-volt charging station, fully recharging the pack takes only about 2.5 hours. Charging from a standard 120-volt wall outlet will take about seven hours.
