The 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster base comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 300 hp and 280 pound-feet of torque. Power sends to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. An optional seven-speed dual-clutch unit (PDK) is also available.
Porsche claims it accelerates from zero to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds, which is 0.7 seconds quicker than the old model. Top speed is 170 mph. EPA estimated fuel economy at 24 mpg combined (21 city/28 highway) with manual transmission and 25 mpg combined (22/29) with PDK.
The 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster S gets a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine develops 350 horsepower and 309 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive and six-speed manual transmission are also standard, while seven-speed dual-clutch unit (PDK) is optional.
