The Nissan Altima has been sold for more than two decades and has entered the fifth generations so far. Nissan likes to emphasize the Altima fun-to-drive character. Significant evolutions in features, finesse and frugality have made the Altima a top pick in this popular segment. The 2018 Nissan Altima comes in five trim levels: 2.5 S, 2.5 SR, 2.5 SV, 2.5 SL and 3.5 SL.
The 2018 Nissan Altima is available with two engines. The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder generates 179 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque and returns an impressive 31 mpg combined. The 3.5-liter V6 has 270 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque and achieves a respectable 26 mpg combined. Both are equipped with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), and four-cylinder SR models and V6-powered have paddle shifters that let the CVT emulate a seven-speed transmission.
