The 2018 Kia Rio is a subcompact car available as either a sedan or a four-door hatchback. Both the sedan and hatchback are sold in three trim levels: base LX, S and EX.
The 2018 Kia Rio is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 130 horsepower and 119 pound-feet of torque. Power sent to the front wheel and it can be paired with either a standard six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. However, the manual is only available on the base LX trim.
In track testing, the 2018 Kia Rio EX hatchback went from zero to 60 mph in 8.5 seconds, which is a bit quicker than average time for a subcompact. EPA fuel economy estimates at 32 mpg combined (29 city/37 highway) for the manual and 32 mpg combined (28 city/37 highway).
