It’s been a long time since Buick offered the wagon. That was the large Roadmaster with a V8 engine and body-side wood grain. Buick back again into the wagon business with new Regal TourX, and you can forget about stick-on wood grain trim. It is a really modern wagon with a distinctive European flavor.
Like the Buick Regal Sportback, the TourX is based on the Opel Insignia, a car designed by GM’s European division. The 2018 Buick Regal TourX follows the footsteps of the Volvo Cross Country and Subaru Outback with standard all-wheel drive, black flare fenders and large wheels. With so few wagons in the market and even less in entry-level luxury, the 2018 Buick Regal TourX is an appealing option.
The 2018 Buick Regal TourX is a five-passenger wagon with standard all-wheel drive. It sold in three trim levels: base, Preferred and Essence.
The 2018 Buick Regal TourX comes standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 250 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission are standard. In performance testing, the 2018 Buick Regal TourX hit 60 mph in just 6.3 seconds. EPA estimated fuel economy at 24 mpg combined (21 city/29 highway).
Properly equipped, the 2018 Buick Regal TourX can tow up to 1,500 pounds.
